King Zev was the king of The Valley, one of the thousands of petty kingdoms that sprang up in post-nuclear war America. By 2097, Zev was short and round, balding, and had a scraggly beard streaked with gray.
Zev was considered a wise man, because he understood the Scientific method. Before making any big decision, he would consult his pair of Magic Eight Balls. He asked each one the same question, and made sure their answers matched. Zev held court at his palace in Northridge, wearing a 20th-century business suit with a necktie and top hat. When he orated to a crowd, Zev sometimes used the Megaphone of State, but this was often unnecessary, because his voice carried sufficiently on its own.
