The haidamack who killed Yitzkhak was on horseback. He first took Yitzkhak's homemade spear from his hands when Yitzkhak tried to unhorse him. When a now desperate Yitzkhak reminded the haidamack that Sabbatai had been a Jew, the haidamack bluntly stated that Sabbatai had "got[ten] over it." He then ordered Yitzkhak to convert. When Yitzkhak refused, the haidamack shot Yitzkhak dead with his pistol.
