Yamaguchi Prefecture (山口県) is a prefecture of Japan located in the Chūgoku region on Honshu. The capital is the city of Yamaguchi located in the center of the Prefecture: The largest city, by contrast, is Shimonoseki.

Jiro Takahashi was originally from Yamaguchi Prefecture. In 1943, after he was forced to flee Hawaii, Japanese authorities decided he should not return to Yamaguchi Prefecture, preferring that he live and continue propaganda broadcasts from Hiroshima.
