
Worcester (pronounced "wooster") is a city in, and the county seat of, Worcester County, Massachusetts, United States. Named after Worcester, England, as of the 2010 Census the city's population was 181,045, making it the second-most populous city in New England after Boston. Due to its location in Central Massachusetts, Worcester is known as the "Heart of the Commonwealth".
Worcester in The Hot War[]
After Boston was destroyed by a Soviet atomic bomb, Worcester became even more essential to cross-country travel and shipping. While Bruce McNulty's train passed through destroyed Boston in September 1952, he had to transfer in Worcester.[1]
