The Western Ocean is a massive body of water. On its eastern shore is the kingdom of Detina. On its western shore is a continent divided among a number of kingdoms including Sorb, the mother kingdom, the Sapphire Isle, and the kingdom which Kermit ruled. Several centuries ago, explorers from the mother kingdom crossed the Western Ocean and established and settled colonies in Detina, conquering territory from the indigenous blond population and tying the blonds to the land. The dominant people of both sides of the Western Ocean draw their ethnic roots from the western continent.
