Fictional Character
The House of Daniel
Urban Fantasy
Type of Appearance: Direct
Nationality: United States
Occupation: Semi-pro baseball player
Relatives: Elmer (grandfather)
Sports Team: House of Daniel

Wes Petersen was one of two main pitchers for the House of Daniel in 1934. He and team manager Harv Watrous gave Jack Spivey a try-out when he joined the team in Ponca City. Petersen pitched to Spivey a couple of times, driving Spivey to the ground with hard pitches. Petersen admitted he was a mean son of a gun. Spivey hit enough of Petersen's pitches that Watrous concluded Spivey would do.[1]

Petersen was in many ways the level headed number two man of the team, curbing certain of Watrous' excesses. When Watrous was determined to sneak out of Greeley, Colorado after dark and cross snow-covered Milner Pass to get to Grand Junction, Petersen and first pitcher Fidgety Frank Carlisle talked him out of it.[2] He also provided a sympathetic ear to Jack Spivey after Spivey's reunion with his father went poorly.[3]

Most of all, Petersen was devoted to the team and to the road, and idea Spivey couldn't quite agree with even in his early days with the team.[4]
