The War of the Kingdoms shocked the civilized world and bled the great kingdoms of the east nearly dry.
For decades, an uneasy peace had existed between the great powers of Albion, Narbonensis, Schlepsig, Leon, Torino, the Dual Monarchy, Tver, and the Hassockian Empire, many of which had border disputes that flared up occasionally. A series of wars on the Nekemte Peninsula exacerbated the problem.
The existence of many Vlachs in the Dual Monarchy's territory caused Vlachia to desire expansion. Tensions reached a height when a Vlach werewolf tore out the throats of the Crown Prince of the Dual Monarchy and his wife, before being shot by a guard's silver crossbow.
The werewolf was believed to be working for the King of Vlachia, so the Dual Monarchy declared war on Vlachia.
