Walid, a grizzled old veteran, was one of the dar al-Harb soldiers who took Ib Scoglund and company as prisoners. A longtime resident of the dar al-Harb border with Tawantiinsuuju, he knew the Ketjwa language very well. He was therefore able to translate the book of Patjakamak for Judge Muhammad ibn Nizam, helping to prove the literary legitimacy of the sun-worshipers.[1]
