The Vienna Ballroom was one of a number of European style businesses that thrived in Shanghai, China in the 1930s. While the Ballroom is mentioned in a number of historical records of the period, it is not clear when it was established and when it ceased operation.

Vienna Ballroom in The War That Came Early

The Vienna Ballroom was one of the half-dozen best cabarets in Shanghai. Situated at the corner of Majestic Road and Bubbling Well Road, it put the Golden Lotus Dance Hall to shame. Pete McGill and Vera Kuznetsova went there one day in 1939, to take in the music of Celis' All-Star Orchestra. [1]
