Variety is a daily newspaper for the entertainment industry. It has been published since 1905, starting by covering vaudeville with offices in New York, then opening a Los Angeles bureau in the 1930s.

Variety in "News From the Front"[]

On January 15, 1942, Variety reported that Hollywood had taken an anti-war stance, releasing films and radio shows that protested American involvement in World War II. This issue announced the upcoming film The Road to Nowhere, the radio comedy Boy, Do You Bet Your Life, and the Frank Sinatra single "Ain't Gonna Study War No More".[1]
