Fictional Character
"Vilcabamba"
Set in the Future
Type of Appearance: Direct (unnamed)
Species: Human
Nationality: United States
Date of Birth: 21st century
Occupation: Politician

President Harris Moffatt III's Secretary of Alien Affairs[1] was one of Moffatt's two most important advisers, the other being the Secretary of Defense. When the Krolp demanded access to silver and a small amount of gold deep below the surface of northeastern Utah, Moffatt met with both secretaries to decide how to proceed. After Moffatt resolved to fight the Krolp, the Secretary of Alien Affairs privately met with Moffatt.

During a research trip to Mesa State College, the Secretary had reviewed the history of the Spanish conquest of the Inca six hundred years before. He learned that a group of Inca had fled into the mountains and established the community of Vilcabamba. He informed Moffat that Vilcabamba had remained more or less free for 40 years before the Spanish obliterated it. Moffatt concluded that the U.S. had already gone on for longer than Vilcabamba had, and now it needed to keep going. The Secretary of Alien Affairs stated his agreement, and left.

When the actual fighting broke out, the Secretary of Alien Affairs reminded Moffatt once again of the ultimate fate of Vilcabamba, a fate the U.S. and Canada ultimately shared.

Before the arrival of the Krolp, the office of the Secretary of Alien Affairs had been called "Secretary of State".
