Ulric Skakki was a member of the expedition to find the Golden Shrine through the Gap in the Glacier. He was a bit of rogue, known for cunning and skill. Count Hamnet Thyssen described him, "He is good man beside you but not behind you."
He was selected by Emperor Sigvat II to be part of the expedition due to his skill and because he had been asked for by name by Trasamund, the jarl or leader of the clan that discovered the Gap, as he had quite a reputation among the Bizogots.
