USS Platte Valley was a Union Navy steamship, used as a river gunboat during the American Civil War. It assisted the evacuation of wounded Union troops from Fort Pillow the day after the fort fell to Confederates. Lt. Mack Leaming was evacuated aboard the Platte Valley.
