"Traditions" is a short fantasy story by Harry Turtledove originally published in the November 1983 issue of Amazing Stories under his Eric Iverson pseudonym. It has never been reprinted or collected.

The story, set in the fictional Duchy of Strymon, begins by noting a number of families have various unique traditions, concluding that the count of Sirmion is always killed by a vampire. When the twelfth count, Constans, is killed by a vampire while in the garderobe (toilet), his son and successor, Manes, resolves to end this tradition for himself and his own son, aged six. With the wandering scholar Valerian in tow, Manes goes forth on what proves to be an unsuccessful mission.
