The Tower of the Bat in Zamorazamaria served as the dwelling of the evil wizard Sloth-Amok. The Tower was accessible by the Thirteen Steps, which were made from the skulls and bones of virgins over the age of 73. At the upper level of the Tower lived the infamous Boring Beast.
Literary comment[]
The name Tower of the Bat is probably an allusion to Robert E. Howard's "The Tower of the Elephant", although it is interchangeable and hardly unique among treasure-holds which Conan has raided.
