Lt. Toby Custine was a member of the "cabal" within the Royal American Mounted Police, which Thomas Bushell assembled to hunt for The Two Georges, upon discovering that Sir Horace Bragg might not be trustworthy.[1] As a young man, Custine had dreamed of becoming a safe cracker, until his father explained that such men often had to take long holidays in places that no one fancied visiting. But the skills of Custine's original professional wishes came in handy when enforcing search warrants in tightly locked places.[2]
