Tiffany Klein was an employee of Crosstime Traffic. In 2096, she joined her husband Jacob and her daughter Annette on a trading trip to an alternate where the Great Black Deaths wiped out 80% of the population of 14th-century Europe. As Jews were frequently persecuted in the Kingdom of Versailles, the rump of France, the Kleins disguised themselves as Arabs from Marseille. Tiffany Klein called herself Aisha.
The Kleins sold olive oil from the home timeline in the market along the Seine in Paris. It was here that they came to the attention of Duke Raoul of Paris, the man who (some believed) was the true power behind the throne of Versailles. The Duke ordered one of his men, Jacques, to accompany the Kleins' caravan back to Marseille.
Just shy of their destination, the caravan was set upon by bandits. Jacob and Tiffany were taken as slaves to Marseille, where they were quickly bought back by Crosstime Traffic operatives. Annette, however, was taken to Madrid, her fate unknown until she was able to escape back to the home timeline's Madrid, and reveal that rogue Crosstimers had established a slave trade in several alternates.
