"Three Men and a Vampire" is a short work by Harry Turtledove, first published in the, Some Time Later: Fantastic Voyages in Alternate Worlds, by A.J. Sikes, B.J. Sikes, and Dover Whitecliff (2017). It is narrated by Jerome ("J."), the alter-ego of author Jerome K. Jerome from his novel Three Men in a Boat (To Say Nothing of the Dog) (1889). A preview audio version was made available here.
The anthology also contains the sequel work, "Three Men and a Werewolf".[1]
Plot[]
The story centers around the main characters from Jerome's novel, but includes Professor Abraham van Helsing, the vampire-killing surgeon from Bram Stoker's Dracula. Jerome's protagonists Jerome, George, and Harris, as well as Jerome's dog Montmorency, encounter van Helsing while carousing one night. Van Helsing convinces them to accompany him on a hunt for a vampire.
