  • Greetings,

I am Stepintime, a user from the Alternative History Wiki, a creative writing wiki where people can write whatever stories they wish concerning alternative history.

I agree that Harry Turtledove is a great author for the Alternative History genre, and I think there may be an overlap of interest between the Harry Turtledove Wiki and the Alternative History Wiki.

While I visiting I saw that your Wiki had a list of other alternative history wikis, I think adding the Alternative History Wiki to the list would be good for users looking for Alternative History Content.

If I was given permission I would also like to write a couple sentences about the Alternative History Wiki, on your Alternative History Page.

Please come visit our Wiki, and feel welcome to contribute! Have a nice day

    Sincerely,

    Stepintime

I don't have an objection, but we operate by consensus among the other moderators.  They'll need to weigh in.  We'll set December 15, 2017 as our deadline for an answer.

    • I would very happily include the link.

Understood, that sounds like a reasonable direction.

In the mean time, I will see if there is someway you can be mentioned on the Alternative History Wiki, though I have no power to do that myself. I can start a discussion on the subject.  I think our Wikis can do well by working together. Even though we have different fields, we still share a similar spirit.

Thanks for your time, consideration and just being present here.

      Sincerely,

      Stepintime

    • I have no objection and, in fact, think its a good idea. At the end of the top paragraph we have (in bold) "Fan-fic and speculative writing should be kept in user blogs only!" We could a reference to the Alternative History Wiki or even replace with the reference since no one has taken up the suggestion. That wiki is a place User:Adam Keller would find more suitable for his fan-fic. This would be in addition to the "Other wikis" sub-section.

Oh, I just realized I am assuming Fan-fic is something that is allowed. Is it? If not, then just the sub-section reference, I suppose. ML4E (talk) 00:04, December 8, 2017 (UTC)

Speculative wirting- yes, Fan-Fic I am afraid not because the wiki does not allow dereirtive works. Howvever, everything that is original in the relam of  alternative history is accepted. Whether this be altnerative events in the recent past or even a different history of the solar system. No future history is allowed ethier, but there is the Future Wiki for that.

      Regards,

      Sepintime
