Story: "Running of the Bulls"

Thimras was a deity worshipped in the nation of Astilia. He had the head of a bull and the body of a person. In the city of Amblona, the annual Running of the Bulls honored Thimras. A priest and his acolytes would bless the bulls the day before the run. On the day of the run, they would cover the runners from snout to tail in white paint, to show Thimras their purity.

Literary comment[]

Thimras is broadly based on Mithras, a heroic bull-killer in ancient mythology. However, Mithras' appearance was always depicted as fully human, with no bullish profile.
