The Wages of Sin is an alternate history novel by Harry Turtledove, published by CAEZIK SF & Fantasy in December, 2023.[1] It is set in a world in which HIV/AIDS began spreading out of Africa in 1509. The bulk of the novel is set between 1851 and 1853 in an England that has imposed repressive segregation of adult women from society in an effort to halt the spread of "the Wasting". It was a finalist for the 2023 Sidewise Award for best long-form work.
