The Most Illustrious Order of The Two Georges was a British Order of Chivalry reserved for and bestowed by the Monarch upon deserving subjects residing in "The Broad Western Land", i.e. the North American Union.
In 1995, Thomas Bushell and Samuel Stanley received the rank of Knight Commander in this order, for their central part in recovering the stolen painting for which the order was named and for saving the life of King-Emperor Charles III.[1]
