"The Great White Way" is a science fiction novelette by Laura Frankos, published in Analog Science Fiction and Fact, September 2000.[1]
In the office of You Are There Virtual Reality Gaming in Sherman Oaks, programmers Trina Hutchinson and Brent Birley have a disagreement about which Broadway composer should be played on the office CD player: Stephen Sondheim or Andrew Lloyd Webber. The two eventually conceive a video game where massive armies of the two composers' list of characters face off against each other.
