"The Great White Way" is a science fiction short story by Laura Frankos, published in Analog Science Fiction and Fact, September 2000.
In the office of You Are There Virtual Reality Gaming in Sherman Oaks, programmers Trina Hutchinson and Brent Birley have a disagreement about which Broadway composer should be played on the office CD player: Stephen Sondheim or Andrew Lloyd Webber. The two eventually conceive a video game where massive armies of the two composers' list of characters face off against each other.
