Teo Acosta was an aerobics instructor in San Atanasio, California. He began an affair with Louise Ferguson, one of his students. She eventually left her husband of almost 30 years for him. The two lived common-law in Acosta's condo with Louise helping to pay the bills with money from her divorce settlement.[1]
A few months after the Yellowstone Supervolcano erupted, Louise found she was pregnant with Teo's child. He did not take the news well and demanded Louise have an abortion. When she hesitated and put him off, Teo packed up his personal possessions while Louise was at work and abandoned her, leaving the condo to her if she could maintain the payments.[2]
Louise told Colin Ferguson, her former husband, about this. Since he was a police Lieutenant with the San Atanasio PD, he promised to try to track down Teo but since he had relatives in Mexico, Colin didn't hold out much hope. Although their divorce was final and Colin was planning to marry Kelly Birnbaum, he also promised to do what he could to help Louise financially.[3]
