Tantalus 3 was part of a series of designer drugs first developed in the 2030s.[1] It was highly addictive, and so was an illegal controlled substance. As with other illegal controlled substances, a substantial black market existed for the sale of Tantalus-3.[2]
Ramon Abarca, a stage actor, became addicted to Tantalus 3 in the in around 2076. His addiction finally killed him in July, 2078. His addiction had been disastrous for his marriage to fellow actor David Greenbaum.[3]
