Talonmaster is a military rank used by the leaders of Mrem clan defense forces in the Clan of the Claw shared universe, of which Harry Turtledove's "The Mrem Go West" is the first published story in the 2011 reboot. Rantan Taggah is the only talonmaster in Turtledove's story. Sequels by other authors introduce further talonmasters, who appear to be subservient to Rantan Taggah, the supreme talonmaster. As the nature and duties of the talonmaster rank are never described in detail, an in-universe article has not been attempted. For convenience, Taggah is categorized as a General for this capacity.
