Interesting news story the other day. The Stratford Shakespeare Festival is putting on an English translation of Lope de Vega's Fuente Ovejuna this year. Wouldn't have had any significance to me if I hadn't read RB. The villain of the play is named Guzman. Wonder if HT knew the play when he made Captain Guzman de Vega's superior?
