The current picture shows a very young Millan Astray probably in the 1910s. By 1936 he would look more like this.

That spot is an exit wound for a bullet that destroyed his missing right eye. Scary as fuck, even without taking into account the fact that he was mad as march hare. I think it shows better the kind of "skeletal fanatic" Turtledove wrote about in that scene. You can also check this one for a recollection of other massive wounds he caught and survived during the Moroccan campaign.http://www.warfare.it/img/documenti_img/millan_astray_w.jpg WastedTime 13:58, May 23, 2011 (UTC)

With Astray in tWTCE and Zhukov in "The Last Article" we surrendering generals addressing their troops and then being taken away to be killed. Turtledove Parallels (or whatever its called these days)? As a counter, we have Patton address his troops in TL-191 but its unlikely he was shot afterwards. ML4E (talk) 20:59, July 24, 2014 (UTC)

Yeah, I see no reason why not. Turtle Fan (talk) 01:49, July 25, 2014 (UTC)
