John Wayne also appeared in the Colonization books. He met both Sam Yeager and Liu Han, when she and Liu Mei came to the U.S. looking for help against the Race in China. He hoped the communists would kill as many Lizards as they could.

I could find the reference to Yeager meeting Wayne, but I can't find anything about Wayne wanting the Communists to kill Lizards. Citation, please? TR 00:59, July 9, 2011 (UTC)
Maybe it was John Wayne Gacy who said he wanted the commies to kill the Lizards. I hear it's easy to get the two of them confused. Turtle Fan 02:23, July 9, 2011 (UTC)
Not sure how one could mix up Wayne and Gacy. The former was an actor, the latter was a fat clown. Jelay14 02:42, July 11, 2011 (UTC)
Oh, people do it all the time. It's not as easy as say, confusing Concord, New Hampshire with Concord, Massachusetts, but it can happen. TR 19:03, July 11, 2011 (UTC)
Can't see it, Jelay? That is why you will never represent Minnesota's 6th Congressional district or head the House Tea Party caucus. Turtle Fan 19:50, July 11, 2011 (UTC)

Wayne Morris in Joe Steele[]

Seeing this article reminded me of a throw-away line in Joe Steele. Mike and Stella go to the movies to see the film Kid Galahad starring a new kid named Wayne Morris (pg 158). At the time I though this might be a reference to John Wayne with a different stage name using "Wayne" as the given name an the "Morris" section of his real surname. This would have been just before Mike's arrest in 1937 so Wayne would have been around 30, hardly a kid. On the other hand, OTL Wayne's career took off in 1939 so his just becoming a big name star in 1937 is compatible. What do you think. ML4E (talk) 18:24, September 2, 2015 (UTC)

It's a real film, and Wayne Morris was this guy. I just didn't get around to creating a page for the film. TR (talk) 18:41, September 2, 2015 (UTC)

Huh, how about that. I didn't even think to check if it was a real film. I just saw the name "Wayne Morris" and thought butterflies from "John Wayne" / "Marion Morrison", especially given the prominent names of the OTL co-stars. ML4E (talk) 15:58, September 3, 2015 (UTC)

No, Yeager describes meeting Wayne. It'd not direct, but it's a cameo. TR (talk) 13:59, November 2, 2016 (UTC)
