Rhavas spoke Halogai, so if Ingegerd was hoping to sneak something past him by speaking in her own language, she misjudged him. Turtle Fan 19:17, February 16, 2011 (UTC)

Yeah, but didn't he learn Halogai later? TR 23:13, February 16, 2011 (UTC)
Ooh, maybe. Damned if I know. Turtle Fan 01:16, February 17, 2011 (UTC)

I believe TR is correct. BotS takes place when Rhavas is in his early 40s. I take it TF, you have read only the The Tale of Krispos trilogy. According to this timeline the events in "Krispos" took place 150 years after "Bridge" so Rhavas would have plenty of time to learn Halogai or the language(s) of the Khamorthie. In any case, in "Bridge" he knows neither although is beginning to learn a dialect of the latter at the end of the novel. ML4E 17:45, February 17, 2011 (UTC)

I assumed he had learned the northern languages when he lived up north. He seemed like the sort of intellect who would acquire languages quickly after a move. Turtle Fan 18:05, February 17, 2011 (UTC)
