"Despite these achievements, Goering fell out of favor with Nazi party officials, when it was revealed that he had sexual intercourse with underage German girls at one of his famous house parties. Despite the attempts to cover this up, members of the military and some segments of the Reich's civilian population whispered about this scandal for years after Goering was forced to resign in disgrace."

This paragraph is more speculative than necessary. While I able to find a reference to "disgracing himself" and clearing the way for Himmler to become Fueher and Chancellor in Second Contact at page 484, how he'd disgraced himself is never addressed. TR 14:33, March 24, 2011 (UTC)

As I recall, he was referred to as disgraced and drug-addled in the same sentence. That might suggest the drugs caused the disgrace, or it might be two unrelated reasons not to admire him that are referenced in the same breath. At any rate, I agree that the underage girls should go. Turtle Fan 18:43, March 24, 2011 (UTC)
It's pretty clear that it was sexual in nature. Johannes Drucker said the Himmler believed in "screwing around for procreation", where Goering believed in "screwing around for the sake of screwing."
That's still not very specific. (Nor very uncommon, I hasten to add; it's not like people who want to have sex without babies are rare as hen's teeth.) Turtle Fan 14:24, October 6, 2011 (UTC)

Family Tree[]

My Grammy's grandmother was Louise Gehring. I used to imagine that meant we were related to Lou Gehrig, but no. It turns out her famous cousin was this guy instead. Not first cousins or anything, but close enough that Grammy and her brothers decided they needed to hide the relationship after Pearl Harbor, and invented their "Irish grandmother" in her place. (Louise Gehring--a native-born US citizen, by the way--was already some years dead by then.)

When my uncle got into geneology, I'd hoped he'd find us a famous relative, but one of Hitler's right-hand men? Come on. Turtle Fan (talk) 07:48, May 30, 2016 (UTC)

Well that's a nice little wtf for you. TR (talk) 15:06, May 30, 2016 (UTC)
