::::I'm ok with it. That particular republic is dead and gone (not that it had much of a life), and is different from what came before and after, both politically and geographically. So in that sense it isn't the same "country" as Federal Republic of Germany or the German Empire, etc.

::::I would love to be able to have a page for Weimar, individual pages for the two French Empires, individual pages for the five French Republics, etc., but HT's bibliography is usually series of snapshots in the history of most countries, with one or two getting major focus. Sometimes you have big huge differences like Russia vs. the USSR, or the two Germanies, or the two fictional Japans, but those are rare. So we settle for [[France]] being all of France, and so forth. About a year ago I saw a short YouTube video hosted by someone who'd visited the place where they're breeding these foxes. Turns out they're not all that friendly after all. They're certainly tame and nonaggressive; they didn't mind a bit when he'd handle them. But, after sniffing around him for half a minute or so when they walked into the room he was in, each fox mostly ignored him until it was called back out of the room.

Should the First Russian Republic be considered a defunct country? We don't list the Weimar Republic as a defunct country.Matthew Babe Stevenson (talk) 17:37, May 30, 2020 (UTC)

I have no problem adding Weimar, assuming we actually have some people born in Weimar. TR (talk) 19:23, May 30, 2020 (UTC)
We have Peter van Pels, Margot Frank, and Anne Frank. But I'm not sure the WR fits being considered a defunct country, as it is simply one of many phases of Germany.Matthew Babe Stevenson (talk) 21:11, May 30, 2020 (UTC)

About a year ago I saw a short YouTube video hosted by someone who'd visited the place where they're breeding these foxes. Turns out they're not all that friendly after all. By contrast, he let a black lab into the room and tried to ignore it, but it spent the whole time forcing him to pet it. Turtle Fan (talk) 06:31, June 2, 2020 (UTC)
