Talk: Diego Flores de Valdés

I have a strong suspicion that this picture is of Diego Velázquez, the painter. However, there doesn't seem to be any pictures of this guy anywhere, so...Eljuma (talk) 00:09, October 28, 2016 (UTC)

The clothing looked more 17th century than 16th to me so I did some googling and found no matches for FDV outside this very picture in this very wiki. I then googled Velazquez and found [this]. If you google "Diego Velazquez self portrait" you find both this picture again and many similar ones from years apart (guy sure liked that look).--Eljuma (talk) 15:40, October 28, 2016 (UTC)

I find the web page persuasive. At a minimum, there's doubt that the portrait we have is of Diego Flores. I vote for deletion of the picture. TR (talk) 16:02, October 28, 2016 (UTC)

The picture is confirmed as Velázquez. As for Flores, Wikipedia has not been kind to this guy.
