God, this guy was an asshole. He should have swung--from a gibbet. Turtle Fan 03:13, 2 April 2007 (UTC)
Yep. Feel free to add a better pic. TR 03:29, 2 April 2007 (UTC)
I was thinking about it. Didn't want to step on your toes. Turtle Fan 05:38, 2 April 2007 (UTC)
Why would Seymour run with this guy? He (Seymour) wasn't exactly a War Democrat or a National Union type, but he was a lot closer to that than he was to a scumbag Copperhead. Turtle Fan 00:42, 19 December 2008 (UTC)
- If memory serves, Vallandigham became a compromise VP. The Copperheads were "validated" for lack of a better word, so to gain their support, Seymour agreed to Vallandigham. TR 03:26, 19 December 2008 (UTC)
- The most radical member of a party's wing (to say nothing of a convicted traitor, but that's another matter) isn't generally considered a compromise candidate. I'll defer to your memory, though; when I read GotS, I had never heard of Vallandingham. Turtle Fan 06:07, 19 December 2008 (UTC)
