Wait, Richard? WTF? TR 16:10, 29 November 2008 (UTC)
Richard who?
I know that "Charlie" was named Cornwallis at the end of OA but I'm starting to suspect it's not quite the same person. "Charlie" was mocked for being a silver spoon baby even though people knew he was competent in his own right. The real Cornwallis was the first marquis in his family. The nobility began with him. - You mean HT actually butterflied someone? How about that. Well, we'll leave it be until more info arrives. TR 16:59, 29 November 2008 (UTC)
- Or he screwed up some research again. Or the Cornwallises had already been gentry. Most likely--rarely did a family go directly from common to noble.
- Eh, it's not important. Turtle Fan 17:06, 29 November 2008 (UTC)
- Or this Richard could be another person entirely--a fictional relative? TR 17:10, 29 November 2008 (UTC)
Uh oh, now at the surrender scene at Croydon Radcliff introduced Cornwallis to the marquis as "Charles." Somebody had an accident. Jelay14 21:45, 30 November 2008 (UTC)
- We can revert this back to merely Charles and update the Inconsistences page, then? TR 22:04, 30 November 2008 (UTC)

Pretty incidental reference that can probably be moved to References to Historical Figures in Turtledove's Work.JonathanMarkoff (talk) 07:53, September 10, 2016 (UTC)
- The World Turned Upside Down covers that info. I think the TLA section should be deleted. TR (talk) 16:17, December 2, 2016 (UTC)
