Oh this is silly. Technological superiority is one thing, but suits that swat away bullets? Controlled lightning strikes? That's hard to take seriously. Turtle Fan 11:54, 26 February 2009 (UTC)
It was a type of body armor. I took it metaphorically but I guess HT could have meant it literally. It only looked like lightning. Who knows what it really was. ML4E 00:13, 27 February 2009 (UTC)
- HT's usually pretty literal with weapon names. But not always--In Derlavai the two most common weapons were sticks and eggs. Now they weren't really what most of us would think of as a stick, and the eggs were even farther from their namesakes. But not once did any character from any kingdom in the world submit an alternate name. Turtle Fan 21:15, 1 March 2009 (UTC)
"Reactive metareality armor swatted bullets away before they got within thirty centimeters of his hide. It was the same technology that generated avatars . . ." This is directly from the story. Is it metaphor or literal? ML4E 03:53, 3 March 2009 (UTC)
- With a name like "reactive metareality," that line is probably a lot less distinct than we're used to. A technology that lets holograms appear far away from their point of origin is something I could believe, but when that technology also allows the holograms to carry actual matter with them? Well all bets are off there. Turtle Fan 04:04, 3 March 2009 (UTC)
