Do we have any other alloys, compounds or other combinations of elements? Uranium hexafluoride jumps to mind. Anything else for category purposes? TR 04:08, May 24, 2010 (UTC)
- All I can think of, and ths is not a particularly good example, is mustard gas. Turtle Fan 04:21, May 24, 2010 (UTC)
- Likewise, Sodium pentathol is another compound but not a particularly good example. Chemically, alloys and compounds are distinct. Compounds have actual chemical bonds between their elements forming a new substance while alloys have microscopic crystals of the various elements mixed together and interlocked with minimal chemical bonding although some of the trace elements in some specialty steels, for instance, apply their effect that way. If we do want to do this, making two categories (if there are enough articles for it), would be the way to go. ML4E 16:04, May 24, 2010 (UTC)
- Two compunds and one alloy. Short of calling the category "Compounds and alloys" I don't see a reason to create the category right now. TR 16:12, May 24, 2010 (UTC)
