"After his adoption, he became Emperor of Rome . . . " Well yes, that did happen at a later date than the adoption itself, but this makes it sound as though he ascended to the throne uncontested as Caesar's designated successor. This needs clarification but I'll defer to those with a deeper knowledge of Roman history than mine. Turtle Fan 16:29, 12 December 2008 (UTC)

His tie to Caesar was critical to his ascension, but you are right, he didn't take the reins upon Caesar's death. I just removed the clause. TR 16:31, 12 December 2008 (UTC)
I know the Caesarean connection was all-important, but it didn't give him the crown uncontested. Good work on the removal. Turtle Fan 23:15, 12 December 2008 (UTC)

Wow, that's a lot of chaff that was sneaked in. TR (talk) 22:54, August 4, 2016 (UTC)

Historical Figures who Appear in the Bible

The title "Historical Figures who Appear in the Bible" isn't wholly accurate. Augustus and Tiberius play large background roles in the NT but never appear directly.JonathanMarkoff (talk) 18:17, April 7, 2019 (UTC)
