Since both TL-191 and Worldwar involve the Germans ruling the province for almost the entire stories, shouldn't the bodies of those sections refer to Elsass-Lothringen? I'd suggest moving the whole damned article there if we hadn't set a precedent for always using the modern names of countries, which one assumes works for regions as well. - Hmm--You know, Turtledove's nomenclature does factor in. It seems that somewhere along the road the French version became the English version; there's no neutral third name for it as there is for the Liancourt Rocks, for instance. Now that I think of it, in TL-191 it would make more sense if the US adopted Elsass-Lothringen and the CS and Canada adopted Alsace-Lorraine. Turtle Fan 10:03, October 29, 2010 (UTC)
- That thought had sort of occurred to me as well. Although even for Teutophiles (Germanophiles?) like the US, "Elsass-Lothringen" is a bit more of a mouthful than "Alsace-Lorraine".
- I think many of the scenes referencing the French names are radio broadcasts from the BBC, so it isn't wholly odd. TR 17:40, October 29, 2010 (UTC)
