POD[]
I'm thinking that the relevant POD should be changed from "1492" to "c. 1492." While it's probably true that Christopher Columbus' voyage happened on schedule in this timeline, neither he nor this date are ever mentioned in the book.JonathanMarkoff (talk) 21:59, June 5, 2016 (UTC)
I checked the book again recently, and there's a blurb on the back that says something like "When Christopher Columbus arrived in the New World, he found not native humans, but humanoid creatures called sims." But that blurb was written by Orson Scott Card, not HT. There is no mention of Columbus or 1492 in the novel, so the relevant POD should be changed to "c. 1492," because the year probably is correct even if it's never stated.JonathanMarkoff (talk) 22:58, October 3, 2016 (UTC)
See Also[]
I don't know, do we really need a section to link to unrelated stories that share some superficial similarities? We already have Turtledove's Tropes for cataloging that. Turtle Fan (talk) 04:27, 27 April 2024 (UTC)
- MBS has a habit of adding "See Also" for peripheral similarities. In this case, I don't feel strongly but lean towards deleting it. ML4E (talk) 19:42, 27 April 2024 (UTC)
- I would like to remove it, and others like it as we find them. It seems untidy. Turtle Fan (talk) 23:34, 27 April 2024 (UTC)
- In the absence of any attempt to defend the section, I went for it. Turtle Fan (talk) 19:47, 2 May 2024 (UTC)
