It just hit me--in Foundation, Anacreon is the galactic province in which Terminus is founded. I wonder what the connection might be.
Also, there was certainly no Battle of Fort McHenry in T2G, so I wonder what this song is about. Turtle Fan (talk) 22:45, November 11, 2013 (UTC)
- A hard-drinking ancient Greek poet inspired Asimov? Perhaps; his sense of humor does seem to have inclined toward such things. Turtle Fan (talk) 01:41, November 12, 2013 (UTC)
"The song, through its bawdy lyrics, gained popularity in London and elsewhere beyond the Anacreontic Society. New lyrics were also fashioned for it, including several patriotic titles in the United States." In T2G the lyrics could be about anything. My guess would be at least one verse about the Seven Years' War and another about the Franco-Spanish War that gained the British Empire the south-western provinces including Upper California. Also, probably something about the Two Georges. ML4E (talk) 20:18, November 12, 2013 (UTC)

Maybe this page should be conflated with "The Star-Spangled Banner".JonathanMarkoff (talk) 05:51, September 22, 2016 (UTC)
