Tadanmu was the general commanding the army in the Persian province of Yauna. When Mithredath arrived on his mission for Khsrish IV, Tadanmu was at dinner with the satrap Vahauka and was present when the latter invited Mithredath dine with them. After supping, Mithredath explained he was to learn more of the deeds of Khsrish I in his conquest of Yauna. Tadanmu echoed Vahauka's offer of assistance and Hermippos' suggestion Mithredath explore the ruins of Athens.[1]

After Mithredath agreed to the suggestions, Vahauka invited him to speak of the news of the royal court. Mithredath did so, being careful to give such gossip as he felt was safe. However, Tadanmu noticed that he had not spoken of Khsrish's cousin Kurash and asked of him. Mithredath apologized and said that he had been seeing to his estates and so not present at court. However, he understood that Kurash had was well and had new sons from two of his younger wives. Tadanmu persisted in asking for more about Kurash but when Mithredath refused to be drawn out, he subsided.[2]
