Susanna Shakespeare Hall (23 May 1583 – 11 July 1649) was the oldest of three children born to English playwright William Shakespeare and his wife, Anne Hathaway. She was conceived out of wedlock and it was widely believed her parents would not have married had it not been for this conception.

She eventually married one Dr. John Hall. Upon his death, her father willed nearly everything to Susanna.

Susanna Shakespeare in Ruled Britannia[]

Susanna Shakespeare lived with her mother and two siblings in Stratford-Upon-Avon. Her father moved to London in 1588 and returned only once, in 1596, to bury Susanna's younger brother, Hamnet. After her father was rewarded for helping oust Spanish rule, he divorced Susanna's mother and gave her a generous alimony.
