"Superwine" (also known as "Etos Kosmou 6829") is a short story by Harry Turtledove, first published in Asimov's, April, 1987. It is the chronologically the last story set in the Agent of Byzantium series, and was reprinted in the fix-up novel of the same name in 1987.

It is 1320 and Basil Argyros was relaxing in a tavern after a day's hard work. There he was served a new type of drink which while tasting of watered wine was much stronger. Before he knew it, he was falling down drunk and slept it off in the tavern.

The next day, he was given the assignment to counter Persian plotting in the Caucasus. Thinking of his experience, Argyros decided to purchase the secret of this new wine and disguise himself as a merchant of this product.
