Sophia was the wife of Demetrios, the smith of Abrostola. In her youth, she was the most desirable woman in the village. Father George had eyed her before she finally settled with Demetrios. After Theodore the farmer was murdered, Sophia pulled Father George aside, accusing another farmer, John of lying about Demetrios. She admitted that Demetrios might have a reason for killing Theodore, as Theodore had used the Farmers' Law to shut down a mill Demetrios built on the grounds it used too much water. She nonetheless accused John of lying, and suggested he might have been the killer.[1]

However, Father George soon deduced that Demetrios was the killer.[2]
