Siphnos was an important Sithonian city-state. It lost a devastating war against Kortys, the other leading Sithonian city-state. Soon after, both city-states and the rest of Sithonia were swallowed up by the Elabonian Empire.
The god Biton maintained a seer at Siphnos, similar to the Sibyl at Ikos.
