Sarus was the son of Leovigild, the jarl of the Musk Ox Clan of the Bizogot.
Sarus led a small band who made contact with Count Hamnet Thyssen and his band on their trek to the Glacier to discover what lay beyond the Gap. Sarus invited the band of Raumsdalians to return with him to the camp of the Musk Ox Clan. Thyssen asked if they would be Leovigild's guests, knowing that if they were, they would have certain protections.
