The Royal Marines are the marine corps and amphibious infantry of the United Kingdom and, along with the Royal Navy and Royal Fleet Auxiliary, form the Naval Service. They are also the United Kingdom's specialists in mountain warfare and Arctic warfare. A core component of the country's Rapid Deployment Force, the Corps' 3 Commando Brigade is capable of operating independently and is highly trained as a commando force. It can deploy quickly and fight in any terrain in the world.

Royal Marines in Southern Victory[]

During the Second Mexican War, the Royal Marines staged a commando style raid on San Francisco. In addition to setting fire to what seemed like half the city, the Marines successfully robbed the US Mint during the confusion.

During the Second Great War, when the islands of Bermuda where successfully retaken, the British garrisoned the island with Royal Marines. After the US won the Battle of the North Atlantic in 1943, the US Navy launched an amphibious assault against the islands garrison who fought to the bitter end.

Royal Marines in The Two Georges[]

In addition to serving with the Royal Navy, the Royal Marines were permanently deployed to the North American Union and served with the Royal North American Navy.

The Royal Marines proved to be helpful to Colonel Thomas Bushell in the Queen Charlotte Islands during his investigation of the theft of The Two Georges.

Royal Marines in The War That Came Early[]

Royal Marines were stationed in Peking, protecting the British legation there. Like their US coutnerparts, they too referred to themselves as "Leathernecks," and the Yanks found them to be better company than any other foreign nationals in the city.
