Roland "Rollie" Dwyer was a detective in the San Francisco Police Department. While he and private detective Miles Bowman were not exactly friends, their relationship was cordial enough.
One day, Dwyer and his superior, Captain Henry Bock, arrived at Bowman's office with perplexing news. Evan Thursday, the man Bowman suspected of murdering his partner Tom Trencher, had himself been murdered.
