Rivka Russie was the wife of Dr. Moishe Russie and the mother of Dr. Reuven Russie. As Moishe knew, she was the reason the Moishe household survived and the glue that held it together. Her oldest daughter Sarah died when Warsaw was under Nazi occupation.
She was the first to know that the Race invaded right after Moishe's prayer that the Jews be saved from extermination. She also was told by Moishe to not believe that he wasn't special. since all the people in the ghetto held him in Prophet-like status.
When the Race began to hunt for Moishe after he refused to continue praising them over the radio, she and Reuven were helped to disappear into a safehouse, by the offices of Mordechai Anielewicz. After he was caught, she met with David Goldfarb, who had come to save his cousin Moishe. She and Reuven later joined the cousins in the flight to London. She also witnessed the German nuclear attack on Rome when the family was sailing to Palestine.
She was kidnapped along with the rest of the family in the Holy Land by Jews rebelling against the British Empire. The Russies were allowed to go after the British started fighting with the rebellious Jews. After the Race takeover of the Holy Land, she was imprisoned with the rest of the family in Cairo and later released.
She lived to see the opening of Russie Medical College, and gave birth to twin girls, Esther and Judith. Even though she had suffered for most of her life due to her religion and ethnicity, Rivka had a firm belief in God.
